Curriculum of Shaolin Xiaolong Kungfu Academy
To inherit and carry forward Shaolin Kungfu, the precious cultural heritage, standardize Kungfu teaching with clear rules and targeted training, realize scientific and standardized training, and integrate theory with practice. Enable students to master the professional basic knowledge and essential skills of authentic Shaolin Kungfu within the study period.
Course Outline
Shaolin Kungfu Routines
Mainly learn traditional Shaolin Kungfu, including classic traditional routines such as Shaolin Boxing, Shaolin Staff and Shaolin Broadsword. Master the skills of Eighteen Kinds of Weapons (broadsword, spear, sword, staff, axe, yue and so on) to improve weapon application ability. Equipped with theoretical courses of Shaolin Kungfu, including the history of Shaolin Kungfu development, sports physiology, routine arrangement principles and other knowledge, realizing the combination of theory and practice, and cultivating talents with solid practical foundation and theoretical literacy of Shaolin Kungfu.

Sanda Combat & Free Fighting
Mainly learn core skills of boxing and Sanda. Boxing includes straight punch, hook punch, swing punch and other basic and advanced movements; leg techniques cover whip kick, push kick, side kick and other practical striking skills. It systematically trains grappling, throwing skills, combat confrontation and actual fighting skills for arena competition, focusing on attack and defense integration as well as reaction speed. Matched with Sanda theory courses, explaining competition rules, tactical arrangement, sports injury prevention and physical training methods. It focuses on cultivating students’ actual combat ability, arena adaptability and self-defense ability, suitable for competition, fitness and self-protection needs.
Wing Chun
Based on the core techniques of Wing Chun, systematically learn three basic routines: Siu Nim Tau, Chum Kiu and Biu Gee to lay a solid foundation. Focus on training core hand techniques such as Tan Sau, Bong Sau and Fuk Sau, as well as core essentials including centerline theory and Siu Nim Tau Stance. Learn Chi Sau and other actual combat confrontation skills, mastering the combat logic of close-range attack and defense and overcoming hardness with softness. It also teaches the development history and technical principles of Wing Chun, combining theoretical learning with actual training, cultivating students’ close-range defense ability, physical coordination and concentration, meeting the needs of fitness, self-defense and traditional inheritance.
Taekwondo
Mainly learn practical striking skills with fists and feet, dominated by leg techniques including roundhouse kick, side kick, back kick, axe kick and other basic and advanced moves, supplemented by fist and elbow striking movements. Systematically train grappling, combat confrontation and self-defense skills to strengthen practical application and emergency response ability. Consolidate basic skills including flexibility, explosive power and balance training, as well as etiquette norms such as bowing and shouting. Supporting theoretical teaching covers grading standards, competition rules and etiquette culture, cultivating students’ self-defense ability, willpower and etiquette quality.
TaiChi
Focus on basic and advanced Tai Chi routines: 24-style Simplified Tai Chi, 36-style Tai Chi,42-style Tai Chi Chen-style Tai Chi. It explains health preservation principles, breathing methods and cultural origin of Tai Chi, emphasizing the integration of movements and mental awareness. It not only cultivates Tai Chi skills, but also strengthens physical fitness, relieves physical and mental stress, and inherits traditional Tai Chi culture, suitable for people of all ages, especially for health preservation.

Film and Television Performance (On-camera Competence)
- Fundamental Performance Skills: Personality liberation, imaginary object performance, animal imitation, and emotional control (joy, anger, sorrow and fear).
- Camera Language Skills: Camera awareness, stage movement, eye contact, micro-expression control, and line rhythm.
- Skit Training: Thematic skits, one-on-one scene acting, group situational performance, and ancient & modern character shaping.

- Martial Arts Choreography: Action decomposition, combat scene arrangement, camera angle coordination, and safety protection techniques.
- Stunt Application: Wire operation, basic explosion effect cooperation, pyrotechnic effect coordination, and safe falling & tackling skills.
- Shooting Practice: On-set workflow, director instruction comprehension, on-camera movement coordination, and basic storyboard cognition.
- Basic Makeup and Styling: Ancient costume hairstyling, special effects makeup, realistic fight wound effects, and costume & prop operation.
Lion & Dragon Dance
Centering on the inheritance of traditional folk culture, systematically learn basic and advanced routines of lion dance and dragon dance, including classic movements of lion dance such as caiqing, jumping, rolling and modeling; formation changing skills of dragon dance such as circling, shuttling and leaping. Attach importance to team cooperation and tacit understanding, learn the use and maintenance of props, and understand folk cultural connotation and traditional etiquette. Combine stage performance skills to train coordination, rhythm and appreciation, suitable for festival performances, folk activities and commercial shows.
Shaolin Kungfu Street Dance
Integrate traditional Shaolin Kungfu elements with modern street dance. Learn basic boxing, leg techniques and strength skills of Shaolin Kungfu, as well as basic street dance movements, rhythm control and formation arrangement. Focus on the integrated application of Kungfu and street dance to create characteristic movements with strength, rhythm and ornamental value. Cultivate personalized expression and stage performance ability, explain routine arrangement principles and stage etiquette, suitable for fitness, stage performance and talent display, with both fun and professionalism.

International Chinese Courses (Chinese as a Foreign Language for International Students)
Shaolin Xiaolong Kungfu Academy is qualified to enroll international students and has 2 international Chinese classes, adopting an immersive teaching model integrated with Kung Fu culture.
Curriculum System (Graded Teaching)
Beginner Level (Zero Foundation)
Pinyin, tones, daily conversation, basic Chinese characters (500 characters), commonly used Shaolin Kung Fu expressions.
Intermediate Level
Advanced listening, speaking, reading and writing; life / campus / social scenario dialogues; 1500 Chinese characters; basic reading and writing.
Advanced Level
HSK 3–5 standard courses, news reading, argumentative essay writing, Chinese culture (Zen & Martial Arts culture / folk customs), professional Shaolin Kung Fu Chinese.
